Report card November 2014

Positive attitude - I've kept a positive attitude towards all activities that we've done in this class.
Creativity- I've tried my best to put forward opinions on how we could introduce creativity into some things
Equality - I treat everyone equally .
Respect - I've respected all individuals by listening intently when others are talking/presenting
Teamwork- I've worked well in groups for example the grade 8 retreat
Everyone's voice- once again I listen while others are speaking
Commitment- I've committed to this class therefore I believe it's my responsibility to take part in all activities that are put forward as an opportunity to grow as a leader for my community
Personal and social responsiblity- I've shown responsibility by excusing myself from my other classes when I am to be away due to an  obligation for this class. I've been responsible to finish all assignment work and get  caught up with anything that has been taught that day

I'm enjoying the opportunities we get for leadership and the volunteer opportunities in this class. It is also really enjoyable to organize events and then facilitate them as well such as the grade 8 retreat and the rememberance day assembly. I'm looking forward to doing more things like this  as it helps with my speaking skills . I got the opportunity to direct others through these two events and I find myself gaining more confidence as I am a very shy person. Leadership is exactly how I imagined it would be and there's nothing I would like to change about this class . Overall I believe I deserve a G for participating in all activities and events and as for a grade I  believe I deserve an A percentage. 93%

Tree planting and farming experience

Out of the two I definitely found farming to be more enjoyable . For tree planting there were a lot of laughs shared but the weather proved to quite miserable and for me personally had a negative impact on the  experience. When we went farming on the other hand, the weather was close to perfect. The tractor ride was so much fun and it felt so good to be outside . It felt great to know that all the food that I put my hard work into harvesting  and sorting would go straight to those in need of food. I'm not an outdoor person but I find that  this might change now because I really enjoyed farming which is surprising to me. I wasn't looking forward to it at first but now i'd jump at the chance to do it again.

Grade 8 retreat reflection!

The grade 8 retreat was quite fun but it certainly did require a lot of work and it got frustrating at times , but at the end of it , it was all worth it.  It was hard to get the grade 8's to listen and pay attention and to not complain and therefore we felt as if they were more inclined to behave and have more fun if given the opportunity to bring forward options as to what we could play and that worked very well. Some grade 8's got a chance to be a leader in  the group and explain how to play their game .The grade 8's enjoyed games where they could run around and be active they didn't really want to do activities such as the name game .  I found my voice with the grade 8's and didn't loose my patience.  A moment I had as a teacher was when  I  taught the grade 8's how to do a few activities and answered their questions one on one . I learnt how difficult it must be to handle a group of such energetic and hyper children.  Overall, I think the grade 8 retreat went really well

Active Learning

Through active learning this year I have learnt a lot of things about myself. But before we get into that I would like to comment on some other things. I came to almost every class of p.e except for when I was sick and had to stay at home. Basically, what I want to say is that i have never skipped. I bring gym strip to class and I don't think there was a day where I didn't bring any gym strip. I have tried to participate as much as I can as I was never a big fan of p.e. As weird as this sounds i actually really enjoy fitness days. These are the days where I do my very best. These are the days where i can say I truly participated in p.e and I tried my hardest. I can now pace myself to run long periods of times. My goal for the community run was to run it in under 30 minutes but I ended up going three minutes over and that was partially because I fell and had to walk for a bit. I'm disappointed with myself for the last beep test we did I was having a bad day and I know for a fact that I could've done better I just wish that I could redo it but unfortunately I can't. I have been trying to live a healthy life outside of school as well. i try to avoid junk food as much as i can and one activity that i absolutely love to do during summer is swimming. Overall I have improved a lot from where I started at the begging of the year and I think I deserve a B.
